Hello, friends! We've just started a new unit called "Write it down!". This unit is about ways of writing, so it is important to know how to use different speeches, such as direct and reported.
We will focus on the Reported speech (Estilo indirecto). It is used to say what someone else said. It is very used in books and many other different texts.
An example of Direct and Reported speech is the following:
Direct. "I'm writing in the English blog" said the teacher. (Estilo directo).
Reported. The teacher said he was writing in the English blog. (Estilo indirecto).
As you can see, in this sentence we have changed the Present Continuous of the direct sentence into Past Continuous in the reported speech.
So, you have to remember doing this change when you're writing or speaking in a reported speech way.
Look at these pictures for knowing the correct changes that you have to do. You can copy one of them in your notebooks.
These videos are really useful for understanding what we've explained. Watch them!
Finally, you can see some activities for practising this grammar content. Let's do them!
